Cue card - useful tool you made - paper fan

{jcomments on}Talk about a hand-made useful tool that you created. Please say

- What was it?
- How did you do it?
- Why it is useful in everyday life?

  • I have made many decorative things in my home such as cross stitch wall hangings, patch work cushion covers and table cloths, but here I would like to talk about a very useful hand-made tool that I made recently.
  • It is a hand-made fan which I learnt from a video on the internet.
  • My friend sent me this video.
  • All these videos were of making useful things out of trash.
  • First I took 60 into 10 cm long paper and folded it into accordion pleats.
  • Then I glued threads on both ends of the pleats.
  • Then I took another piece of paper and rolled it over a straw to form a tube.
  • Then I fitted one end of the pleated paper in the top of the tube and glued it over there.
  • Then my paper fan was ready.
  • I have made many such fans and even taught to my siblings and my nephew and niece.
  • In summers whenever there are power cuts this tool is very handy.
  • My grandmother sits in our front lawn in the mornings.
  • She always has my paper fan in her hand.
  • She just loves it because it is very light weight.
  • Ever since I made this fan she stopped using her hand fan with wooden handle. Now she finds that very heavy.
  • With a little bit of innovation and by using an old spool of thread, this fan can be made to slide inside the spool of thread and carried anywhere.
  • Whenever anyone appreciates my paper fan I feel very proud of myself.
